i'll try to translate.. the important parts(i will add some infos from other sources)
i know my english is not perfect and even full of flaws but i hope it's understandable and can be spread to help the earth. If you want to please fix them and (especially) add more tips and information that can help our earth XD~

The Earth is getting Hotter
It is estimated that in 2040 2000 islands of Indonesia will drown.
Probably you suggest that the temp. that getting hotter is not a problem, or probably you think it's impossible for one or two human being to disturb the Earth?
Recently Inter-governmental Panel on Cimate Change (IPCC) has publicied the result of observation that was held by many scientist from all over the world that from 1990 -2005 the Earth temprature has increase by 0.15-0.3oC. If this increasement keep happening, in 2040 (33 years from now) the artic and antartic ice will all melt. In 2050,land's water will be extremely low causing famine across the earth, The air will be very hot that people will fight for food supply and struggle to breath because of the dust and smoke. The Sea level will rise so high that many islands will vanish and so are it's ppls and belongings. Increasing global temperature is expected to increase the intensity of extreme weather events and to change the amount and pattern of precipitation. Other effects of global warming include changes in agricultural yields, trade routes, glacier retreat, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.
Indonesia as an islands country already feels the effect of global warning. Polonia (a city in North Sumatra) increase in temprature by 0.17oC /year. While Denpasar Bali 0.87oC /year. The only place in Indonesia that had snow the Mount Jayawijaya in Papua already lost some of it's Ice. A research from ITB(2007) reveals that the sea level at Jakarta's bay rise by 0.8 cm. The effect is already felt today, even a tide can flooded the northern area of Jakarta and Tangerang (jakarta's suburb). By 2040, the melted ice from from the Earth polars will rise the sea level causing 2000 small islands drown along with it's potentials.
A senior researcher from Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) define Global Warming as a condition in which the infrared/ heatwave from sunlight are trapped inside the earth's atmosfer because of the glass house gasses(Glass House Effect is term used to describe a process that captures and retains heat in a system). As the Ozon become thinner, the easier for sunlight's wave to slip into our atmosfer. The more heatwave enter the earth and less the one that exit (because the earth's atmosfer concentrated with these glass house gasses), the earth become hotter and hotter like a glass house.
so what are these gasses? Carbon dioxide is the biggest contribution (75%) of the Glass House gas. Everytime we use fosil fuel (oil, gasoline, petroleum gas, coil) for daily needs, car, factory, electricity or when we burn something,like our forest, we automatically release CO2 to the atmosfer. Other Glass House gasses such as metan (CH4,18%) which is produced by organic gasses from decomposition process (cow gasses), clorofluorocarbon(CFC,14%) which is produced by refrigerator and air conditioner's systems (many new products are freon free),Ozone(O3,12%),Ozone(O3,12%) and other gasses also caused this GHE effect that increase global warming.
The effect of Global Warming already affecting us right now. Climate change is happening everywhere. In tropical countries the transition between dry and rainy season within the last 30 years shift a month from normal. Indonesia as the 3rd contributor of glass house gasses from forest fire should be shamed. It's believed that every minute 2 football fields area of forest are yet burn or cut down for illegal logging. If we can't stop this by 15 years from now, there will be no more forest in Indonesia. There will be no more fresh air for our offsprings.
These are few things that we can do to cool down the Earth.
1.Turn down the electricity
even Electricity doesn't produce Carbon, the generator use coils.
when not being in used. Don't leave electronic device on standbye with the plugin still connected with the power source , plug out the plugin from electric source. if you use multi plug, use the one that has a switch/switches (i have one multiplug that has switch for each plug, useful!!) so you can disconnect the electricity from the switch instead of plugin-plugout(a bit tiring e?). Btw this also helps you reduce the electricity cost.
2.Change your lightbulb to CFL type, or ask for Energy saving Lightbulb.
really helps in reducing electricity. also durable.
3.Clean your lightbulb once in awhile
dirt reduce light by 5%, light reduction makes you use more lightbulbs
4. If you have to use AC
use freon free AC, close all door and window, set to moderate temprature (not too hot and too cold),use timer.
5. Convert the heat residue from AC engine to operate water heater
(pls don't ask me how.. i have no clue..)
6. Plant some trees (WE SHOULD!!!)
7.Wash and dry your clothing naturally
reduce the use of dryer and washing machine and help you lose weight ;D
8. Use poblic transportation
reduce air polution.
9. Clean your Car engine
have yourself emision test to make sure your car produce cleaner smoke and lower carbon.
use Hybrid car (hell yeah), use biogasoline,
10. Use paper (and tissue) effeciently
Stop wasting paper, use recycle paper and tissue (anybody ever find them in Indo?)
use digital notes. By using these material wastefully we kill many trees for nothing..poor trees
11. Say No to PLASTIC
Plastic take ages to decompose and release dangerous gasses when burned.
If you can, gather your plastic garbage to recycle.
Bring your own bag to shop groceries. Bring bigger bags to shop There are also many environmental shopping bag offered in low prices (i saw it on oprah.. check oprah.com XD;
If forced to, use paper bag. You can collect good designed paper bag and cardboard boxes to use them again for storage.
12. Say No to CAN
Can also take ages to decompose. dangerous to people and to soil when rusted
canned food and softdrinks are considered junk food and unhealthy. I even consider them dangerous( well the foods smell scary, and softdrinks can be use to clean toilet for God sake..)
13. Use cleaning product that are chemical safe.
